John S. Gleason

John S. Gleason has extensive state and federal trial and appellate experience and represents public and private companies and individuals in real estate, partnership, corporate, employment, trade secrets, construction, condemnation, trust, insurance defense, securities, lender liability, licensing, and general business litigation. He successfully argued the landmark appellate decision Furla v. Jon Douglas Co. (1998) 65 Cal.App.4th 1069, which established the standard of care and duties owed by real estate brokers to purchasers in residential real estate transactions.

Representative Matters
Represent Lennar Homes in construction and property damage cases; various homeowners in fraud and nondisclosure litigation against real estate brokers and sellers of residential properties; auction corporation in federal lawsuit for copyright infringement, false advertising and unfair business competition; plaintiff in sexual harassment suit; Script to Screen in breach of contract and employment cases; Adforce in breach of contract and employment cases; Read-Rite Corporation in trade secrets and contract litigation; Ahmanson Developments in licensing and compensation litigation; beneficiary in complex trust litigation against trustees; Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce in lender litigation; Donald Callender in action involving the sale of Marie Callender’s; plaintiff in antitrust litigation involving King Bearing, Inc.; homeowner in inverse condemnation litigation against John Wayne Airport; developers in several large construction defect actions involving commercial and residential projects in Southern California; Oceanside Redevelopment Agency, Chula Vista Redevelopment Agency and the City of Escondido in condemnation actions; and handle various breach of contract, fraud, breach of fiduciary duty and trade secret actions involving corporations and partnerships
